Peter is senior partner of The Means. A graduate in sociology, and former employee of leading regeneration consultancy URBED, Peter has wide-ranging skills and experience. As well as undertaking a huge variety of consultancy assignments, Peter has led major regeneration schemes in Vauxhall and Merthyr Tydfil. He is currently Chief Executive of the Better Bankside Business Improvement District (BID). Giles Semper
Giles is a partner of The Means. A former editorial director for HarperCollins Publishers, and Head of the Churches Team at Christian Aid, Giles has worked as a regeneration consultant since 2000. He has particular expertise in engaging with the private sector, formerly as Company Secretary of the Vauxhall Employers Group and latterly as deputy CEO at Better Bankside and consultant to several other would-be BIDs. James Thomas
James works as project manager for the Means. As well as possessing an MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management, James has developed particular expertise in financial and systems management. He has worked on a wide range of projects for the practice in, among others, Brent, Maesteg, Penalta, Rhymney, Llanybydder, Camarthen, Llangynwyd, Taff Bargoed, Merthyr Tydfil, Middlesbrough, Newport, Seaside (Llanelli), Southall and the Bankside and Waterloo areas of London. Sophie Tyler
Sophie is senior consultant of The Means and also a Research Fellow inthe Transport Studies Group at the University of Westminster, a unit with a long-standing reputation for practical and policy-orientated research. Sophie is a specialist in travel behaviour and travel planning. Sophie has extensive experience with transport-related EU projects. She was advisor and principal researcher to Optimum2, a project looking at transport to hospitals and business areas. David Ohnsorge
David is an associate for The Means. He studied at the Technical University of Berlin and has a post-graduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning. For his thesis he compared German and British town centre management schemes with each other and looked at ways to improve a particular German scheme. Paul Gehres
Paul is Sustainable Transport Executive for The Means. He is employed by the University of Westminster and seconded to the company through a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). Paul's first degree was a BA Hons in Earth Science from Albion College, Michigan. He recently completed an MSc in Environmental Policy & Regulation at the London School of Economics. Among several work placements, Paul has evaluated the environmental impacts and costs of ZiPee Bikes electric motorbike, and worked with the Carbon Disclosure Project as Investor Relations Intern.Email:
