Working with Smarter Travel Richmond |
 At the invitation of leading transport consultancy Steer Davies Gleave, The Means recently made a contribution to the Smarter Travel Richmond-upon-Thames project. STR was a partnership between Transport for London and Richmond Council to deliver access and information on a range of travel choices so that residents and businesses could adopt a more active lifestyle and help cut congestion in the borough.
The Means was invited by SDG to support its work in engaging businesses in Richmond and Twickenham town centres. The Means also gave expert input on how any interventions could be made more sustainable through the possible creation of an area-specific network – perhaps a Business Improvement District (BID).
Although there was considerable interest from businesses in the offer, Smarter Travel Richmond-upon-Thames will end a year earlier than planned, in March 2011. You can read reports on the programme here.
