The Means has recently been appointed by Waterloo Quarter BID to develop its new CSR programme.
The appointment comes after some initial scoping work carried out in the summer of 2010. Interviews were conducted with key business and charity members in the area to find out what the BID could do to help build better relationships between the two sectors.
Sophie Tyler is now working as part of the WQBID team to set up a number of new services. These include developing volunteering and CSR policy templates and setting up a brokerage system for volunteering opportunities.
“For so many smaller SMEs in Waterloo, having the resources to build relationships with the community is often very challenging. That’s where Waterloo Quarter can really help. It’s really encouraging to see the enthusiasm on all sides for working together.”
Sophie is guided by a newly formed CSR Steering Group, chaired by one of WQBID member businesses.
