Pontardawe is one of the settlements on the western edge of the South
Wales coal field. Now that the extraction and metal industries have virtually
disappeared the town is going through a process of readjustment.
Challenging at
any time, there are more obstacles in the current climate, which will demand a
blend of innovative approach and robust analysis.
With the future of public
funding in the long term under increasing pressure we are exploring how best the
private sector’s involvement can be harnessed.
