Measuring employment project outputs?
HCPfoyers250
The Means has helped Heathrow City Partnership to monitor the outputs from its various enterprise and employment projects. HCP (in its former incarnation as the Southall Regeneration Partnership) approached The Means following its earlier involvement in a project to scope out a possible Business Improvement District (BID) in Southall. On that occasion The Means installed ACT! Customer Relationship Management software to build a database of local businesses, and to record its interactions with them.

On this occasion, HCP found that large amounts of staff time were being used monitoring the outputs from several employment and enterprise projects. HCP has to report these outputs back to funders, as regularly as every month.

The Means advised HCP that their existing ACT! software could be customised to perform this function. Project team Giles Semper and Anguel Iordanov:

  • Customised database fields & the ACT design templates
  • Created bespoke report templates, and installed a software add-in to allow reports to be produced in MS Excel
  • Customised communications templates, for emails and letters
  • Trained regular users and administrators
  • Authored a manual on the customisation
Following this project, HCP has continued to employ Means' associate Anguel Iordanov to support their employment and enterprise projects.
