Means team speaks at June's ECOMM |
|
Giles Semper & Sophie Tyler will
address a workshop session of the European Conference on Mobility Management,
due to be held at Stamford Bridge football ground from 4th to 6th
June. The conference is the leading gathering of mobility management
practicioners, and attracts in excess of 400 delegates.
Their paper forms part of a session on Workplace Travel Plans across Europe,
with other contributions from Netherlands and British Airports Authority (BAA). The topic is ‘The Bankside Master
Travel Plan: providing a framework to support cycling & walking promotion ‘.
Commented Giles:
‘Sophie and I have spoken about the Bankside Travel Plan in a number of
contexts now, but this is the most prestigious. It also coincides with the fact
that the Plan has just received a special mention from the jury of the PEWTA
prize. However we are aware that the Plan sets some pretty ambitious targets
for increasing walking and cycling in Bankside, and that we would rather be
speaking about achieving these. So watch this space for more developments!'
As well as the seminar
spot, Better Bankside is the focus of one of the site visits that takes place ahead
of the main ECOMM proceedings. More than 50 delegates will stroll past Tate
Modern & Shakespeare's Globe and hear about the regeneration of Bankside,
as well as the transport challenges the area faces in years to come.
