Means team speaks at IDA World Congress |
|
Means directors Peter Williams and Giles Semper both presented to the International Downtown Association's World Congress in June.
Peter Williams, senior partner of The Means, addressed the Congress on 'Business Improvement Districts and Town Centre Management: adapting to different national contexts'. He spoke with Paul Levy, President & CEO of City Centre District, Philadelphia (left above) - often described as the largest Business Improvement District in the world, and certainly among the most influential.
Giles Semper, director of The Means, addressed the Congress on 'Drivers don’t spend any more...Incentivising access to retail centres by non-motorised transport modes in the UK and the Netherlands'. He spoke with Minze Walvius (left below), Principal of ADVIER Mobiliseert, a leading sustainable transport consultancy in the Netherlands. Giles and Minze's presentation shared data showing that the spend for shoppers arriving by non-motorised means is now as high as for those arriving by car. You can read Giles' presentation here.
Commented Peter: 'We were both absolutely delighted to be speaking at the IDA event. There is no better arena in which to debate the key issues facing towns and cities, particularly when these centres are still facing a severe downturn. And we were very happy to be co-presenting with such high calibre colleagues as Paul and Minze. They are both leaders in their respective fields.'
