Paul_Gehres_250px

Paul Gehres has joined The Means' team in the role of Sustainable Transport Executive. Paul is employed by University of Westminster and seconded to The Means under a new Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).

Over the next two years Paul will work with businesses to develop a new transport assessment tool. At the same time he will support Sophie Tyler and other Means team members in their work with existing clients, notably Better Bankside. On the Westminster side, Paul will be supported by leading transport academics Professor Mike Browne and Professor Peter White.

'We are absolutely delighted to have added Paul to our team', said Means director Giles Semper. 'And it's great to have cemented a relationship with University of Westminster's world-renowned Transport Studies Group that goes back to our first meeting with Sophie Tyler back in 2005.'

Paul hails from Ohio, USA. His first degree was a BA Hons in Earth Science from Albion College, Michigan. He recently completed an MSc in Environmental Policy & Regulation at the London School of Economics and will graduate in December. Among several work placements, Paul has evaluated the environmental impacts and costs of ZiPee Bikes electric motorbike, and worked with the Carbon Disclosure Project as Investor Relations Intern.

Said Paul: 'I jumped at this opportunity because it gave me the chance to achieve some real-life commercial experience while continuing to be part an academic institution. The Means has unrivalled access to a number of blue chip companies. Together I'm sure we can develop a tool that benefits businesses and the environment.'
