Lottery success for All Souls Bolton |
In 2007 The Means wrote the Audience Development & Access Plan for All Souls Church, Halliwell, Bolton.
June saw the excellent news that the Heritage Lottery Fund is making a grant of £3.3m to the church's owner, the Churches Conservation Trust for the regeneration of All Souls, and is also assigning £265,000 of development funding to the All Souls Community Centre Project.
The Churches Conservation Trust's press release quotes Andy Burnham, Secretary of
State for Culture, Media and Sport: 'I am
delighted with the news that HLF is to support The Churches Conservation
Trust's inspiring project at All Souls, Bolton.
I am excited by the plans that bring this significant heritage
building together with cutting-edge new design. I am also greatly
encouraged by the enthusiasm of the local community to work with CCT and
to bring this building back to life as a community hub. I am sure that Bolton
All Souls will be a major success for the people of Bolton
and be an inspirational project for the future use of historic church
buildings'.
The full text of the press release is here. On 17th September Andy Burnham visited the church.
