Greenwich & Workplace Travel Networks

Greenwich Council commissioned The Means to research how employers in the borough are promoting sustainable transport to their workers. The aim of the study is to assess the uptake of travel plans as well as to examine the scope for a workplace travel network.

Interviewees have included senior managers from major employers including the University of Greenwich, Oxleas NHSgnch Foundation Trust and HMP Belmarsh.

The work includes gathering feedback from private sector employers that have developed a travel plan in recent years.

This research highlights the often complex transport needs of employees, particularly where historical locations and other sites are poorly linked to the transport network.

The report was completed in mid-April and is currently being reviewed by the Council.
