The Means' principle client, Better Bankside, successfully completed its renewal ballot on 26th February. The result was an improvement on the 2005 ballot result in every way, with higher turnout and with increased majorities, both in numbers and in rateable value. Said Means senior partner Peter Williams: 'Although we are absolutely delighted at the result, it hides a great deal of hard work on behalf of the staff team at Better Bankside. We visited around half of our member businesses, and heard how catastrophic the recession has been for many of them. We also heard that, although businesses welcome the high degree of innovation in the Better Bankside programme, they are also looking for direct cost savings prompted by the BID. We now have a significant task in refining the programme to deliver on this.'
