Following
on from its work on the study into nearby Mountain
Ash, The Means has joined the Powell Dobson-led team reviewing what has been
achieved to date in Aberdare town centre and developing proposals for improving its performance.
The
outputs include a regeneration strategy that can act as Supplementary Planning
Guidance, and an Implementation Strategy that has clear proposals on community
involvement.
Aberdare is an industrial town situated at the meeting place of the Rivers Dar and Cynon.
The famous statue in Aberdare's Victoria Square depicts Griffith Rhys Jones, more popularly known as Caradog, who was the conductor of 'Côr Mawr', the South Wales Choral Union, which featured some 460 voices.
