Peter Williams

Peter is founder and managing director of The means. Over 30 plus years Peter’s skills and experience have been developed through undertaking a huge variety of consultancy assignments. His focus has consistently been on the issues of local economic development in very diverse settings. He is particularly interested in how the efforts of different sectors can be combined to best regenerative effect, and strengthening the contribution of urban centres in achieving social, economic and environmental goals. Peter has led the company’s work in Wales, London, Singapore, Albania and throughout England. Peter performed the Chief Executive function of the Better Bankside Business Improvement District (BID) for 20 yrs.

Susie Barlow

Senior Programme Manager

Susie has worked with The means since 2013 and specialises in place management, engagement, BID development and consultancy. She has led on a number of successful BID ballot campaigns, from feasibility through to company set-up and delivery of the program, most recently fulfilling the role of interim Chief Exec for WeAreWaterloo.

Motivated by the challenge of fostering collaboration between stakeholders to achieve shared ambitions, Susie’s recent projects include facilitating two local business groups both on the doorstep of major London development sites. She is also leading a project to engage and support SMEs towards Net Zero Carbon.

Susie has a degree in Corporate Communications which included a semester at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, she previously worked for the Energy Saving Trust and other environmental non-profit organisations.
